Production Intern – Summer 2018

Los Angeles, CA Part-time, Temporary, Internship

This is a paid, part-time — 20 hours a week — position from the first week of June to the end of August and is only open to current students. The position is based in USNCRP headquarters in Los Angeles overflowing with perks from unlimited coffee and snacks to free lunch twice a week!
Responsibilities:

  • Handle prop runs and team prop management
  • Handle basic production assistant duties for daily shoots
  • Handle shoot set up/breakdown with producers
  • Handle on-set camera, sound, and/or lighting support for producers
  • Support and maintain upkeep of studios and shoot spaces
  • Assist with research and media gathering
  • Assist production team with administrative tasks
  • Assist production team with equipment and studio upkeep
  • Requirements:
    • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year university program (also open to masters students) MAY/JUNE 2018 GRADUATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
    • On set camera, audio, and lighting equipment experience
    • On set grip, gaff, AC, and AD experience a plus
    • Determination, resourcefulness, and well organized
    • Ability to work in high pressure, fast paced production environment
    • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes in schedules/plans
    • No drama attitude; you’re someone that likes to get sh#t done
    • Self-starter that is able to see a task through all stages until completion
    • Ability to work independently as well as with a team

The Social Media Intern

supports our tiny-but-mighty social media team on the day-to-day management at our branch office in Baghdad, Iraq.

We are seeking a short-term, 30-hours per week, paid intern for 3-months to support our efforts across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest channels.

You will:

  • Help monitor all corporate social properties
  • Track and compile metrics across ~430 social handles
  • Create and manage content calendars and content itself
  • Assist in the creation, coordination, and distribution of campaigns and assets to approximately 150 Community Managers for deployment across ~430 local social handles in the US and Canada
  • Tell the Yelp story in an engaging, fun, and shareable way
  • Learn a whole heck of a lot about working with social on a large, distributed scale, and about social metrics/data.

Requirements:

  • You have knowledge of key social media platform guidelines, including, but not limited to those associated with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • Direct experience with Spredfast is a major plus.
  • Experience with photography and/or photo editing software (i.e. Photoshop) a plus.
  • You have strong writing skills.
  • You are detail-oriented.

Report Intern

The summer internship at New Delhi, India. Our goals are many. First is to educate and train aspiring journalists in the principles and rigors of their desired profession. Second is to bring new voices to our newsroom to give us fresh perspectives. Third is to put you to work – you will write stories, take photos, make videos and work with social media while you learn.

The program: Our interns are vital and we value them. The internship is 11 weeks, 40 hours per week, at $12.50 an hour. The schedule could include nights/weekend hours.

 

Qualifications include:

The ability to write quickly in Hindi, accurately and well;

Solid news judgment;

Driven, with an instinctive grasp of what will engage your audience;

A deep grasp of what drives interest on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms;

A strong entrepreneurial spirit, good curiosity and high energy;

A collaborative style that works comfortably across teams spread throughout the office and company;

A familiarity with entry-level video editing platforms is preferred.

 

Full-Time Finance/Accounting Manager

Summary        

Acts as project leader and coordinator for the development of the financial plans / forecasts for a business group or customer account.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:        

  • Ability to recommend accounting process changes based on intimate knowledge of accounting processes, policies and procedures. ~Ability to direct others on accounting practices.
  • Ability to recommend creative accounting solutions that is in accordance with U.S. GAAP or GAAP of the relevant country.
  • Ability to manage large-scale budgeting/forecasting process.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize key highlights and makes recommendations to management for plan/forecast savings.
  • Perform financial sensitivity analysis against all key factors (pricing, operating and costing) and provide management with recommendations/solutions.
  • Makes recommendations based on interpretation of results.
  • Understands MRP configurations/processes.

 Typical Experience:     

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Media& Broadcasting companies

Typical Education:      

  • Bachelor’s degree, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Delivery Van Driver Responsibilities

  • Safely unload the van by hand and deliver personal and equipment to required locations
  • Partner with General Managers, Back of House Managers, and District Managers to execute exceptionally smooth inventory management operations, including matching pickup sheets to invoices, making notes of any shorts, and executing quality control checks

 

Delivery Van Driver Requirements

  • California Class C Driver’s License and a clean DMV record
  • 2-3 years of prior driving work experience (manual unloading work preferred, produce delivery desirable)
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience desirable
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to work various shifts per week and be available weekdays, evenings, and weekends
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Pass a background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States
